If you are like me you are always short on storage and speed and this card takes care of both. It allows you to install two NVMe drives on a single card even if your motherboard does not support bifurcation. Bifurcation is the technology that allows you to separate a single slot such as x8 or X16 into smaller x4 slots allowing two or more devices to have dedicated lanes. Unfortunately, it is only supported on certain chipsets for Ryzen and some Intel platforms. If you are like me running consumer-level Intel hardware, bifurcation is not supported. This card uses a separate chip to create the same effect allow me to use two NVMe drives on a PCIe slot.
