There is a minor differrence (Approx 10% with my green drives) but I wanted to try it. If you get the right deal, it makes sense so you can upgrade drives later, but if you are using green drives and can get a deal on the 2680, it is a great card. I have a 2720 in my WHS, and a 2680 in my 2008R2.
[…] Finally, I booted the system and launched the Highpoint Web UI and configured the new array. The process was fairly quick and was completed in about 6 hours. (see my original videos for additional information). […]

Great Videos! Im doing a software raid 5 with 4 2tb drives using WHS2011, and its very slow. Im looking into a raid card and they are very expensive, how is the performance on this card with the configuration you have?? I would like to have a write speed of 100mb/s, is this possible? also with my software raid, when the power goes out it resyncs and takes 2 days, what happends when the power goes out with this card? do they make a BBU for this card?
Excellent videos! What HighPoint card did you use as im thinking of buying one myself?
I am using the RocketRaid 2720 SGL and the 2680 SGL. One is Sata 3 and the other 2. Thanks for the comments.
